The Minneapolis Model B 17-30 was introduced in 1922 as the Minneapolis Threshing Machine Company's (MTM) first unit frame designed tractor. The cross-mounted engine design permitted a simple drive train, consisting of plain spur gears. This 1928 tractor has a factory power take-off (PTO) unit and interchangable cylinder sleeves on the engine.

The Minneapolis Threshing Machine Company (MTM) was established in 1887 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. They began manufacturing steam traction engines two years later in 1889. By 1911, MTM was building tractors mostly large sod breakers under the "Minneapolis" name.

This tractor has a factory power take-off (PTO) unit and interchangeable cylinder sleeves on the engine.

1889 - MTM begins manufacturing steam traction engines.
1922 - The Model B 17-30 is introduced.
1928 - This Model B 17-30 is purchased new and used near Three Hills, AB.
1957 - Stan Reynolds acquires this Model B 17-30 from Mr. Davidson from Three Hills.
1984 - This Model B 17-30 is added to the Reynolds-Alberta Museum Collection.
