A four-person democrat wagon with one half restored, and the other half unrestored. The demarcation between restored and unrestored is down the middle of the vehicle from front to rear. The unrestored side has damage throughout, including exposed wood and badly torn upholstery. The restored side is fully repaired and painted black with red and white pinstripes. Steel tires are present on both sides of the democrat, in the respective conditions. It was pulled by two horses.
This democrat was a special project, completed in the Remington Carriage Museum's Restoration Shop. Affectionately referred to as the museum's 'Half-and-Half Democrat', it is an excellent visual comparison between the before and after conditions of a restoration project.
