Description
McCormick-Deering 22" x 38" steel thresher. McCormick-Deering introduced their first all-steel thresher in 1925. This thresher was available in a 22” x 38” or a 28” x 46” size and was produced until 1956.

The original cost of this thresher was US $1,225.

The McCormick-Deering Line of IHC ran from 1922-1947 and the MMcCormick line ran from 1947-1958.

Chronology:
1902 - McCormick Harvesting Machine Company, Deering Harvester Company, Milwaukee Harvesting Machine Company, Plano Manufacturing Company, and Warder, Bushnell and Glessner Company merge to form International Harvester Company (IHC)
1911 - 1914 Mogul and Titan brand tractors were IHCs most popular brands
1915 - IHC introduces the 10-20 and 15-30 tractors
1919 - IHC buys Parlin and Orendorff factory and rename it the Canton Plow Works
1924 - Farmall introduced and became the leader in rwo-crop tractors
1926 - Farmall Works plant built
1932 - IHC produces their first diesel engine for the TD-40 crawler
1939 - Farmall Letter series introduced
1939-1944 - Some of IHC's plants were producing artillery components for the Second World War
1947 - Farmall Cub introduced
1960s-1970s - IHC starts to struggle financially as they continue to buy unrelated businesses, stretching the company thin
1974 - the 5-millionth tractor rolls off the production line
1977 - IHC appoints a new CEO to improve profit margins and significant cuts are made but union unhappy wiht themany concessions and cuts
1979 - November 1, United Auto Workers call a strike at IHC and the strike lasts until April 20, 1980. This strike cost the company almost 600 million dollars
1984 - Most IHC divisions sold to Tenneco who owns Case
1985 - Production of new Case IH tractors moved to the Case factory in Racine, Wisconsin
1986 - IHC truck division renamed Navistar International Corporation
